Collaborate:
Collaborating across sectors to take civic actions
The 2023-2025 Florida Civic Advance strategic priorities are to:
- Support Civic Health and Community Measurement: The FCA will lead an effort to develop and present civic health data reports in partnership with national, state and education organizations. It will also explore how best to provide meaningful civic data as guidance for assessing and measuring civic health at the community level. Finally, the FCA will promote and highlight civic practices and applied research that provide knowledge and expertise to FCA members, communities, and key stakeholders.
- Convene and Showcase Civic Excellence: The FCA will conduct an annual civic learning agenda through webinars and meetings, and convene and conduct an annual summit on civic advance. It will partner with national, state, and local organizations to provide meaningful programs and civic tools.
- Deepen Engagement with Members, Advisors and Communities: The FCA will build on membership interest in civic practice areas as FCA member “affinity groups” and develop protocols and guidance for these groups. It will provide members with civic health methodologies and tools to address community inclusion and equity, and form a FCA Council of Advisors.
- Elevate FCA Reputation: The FCA will develop a plan to grow the FCA financially to hire staff and consultants and effectively steward FCA resources and leverage partnerships to maximize financial capacity. It will also develop a communication and PR strategy for the importance and value of advancing civic health in Florida communities.
Cross cutting strategies will include:
Convene:
Convening for Members and others in the Florida civic space
Partner:
Partnering with other organizations in the Florida civic space
Build:
Build or renew relationships with other statewide organizations
Listen:
Ongoing listening is a FCA strategy for discovery and community conversations over differences are the bedrock for civic advance
Advocate:
Advocate for inclusive civic engagement that is diverse especially for those who have been historically excluded from the civic space
Our Strategic Position
The FCA is one of the few statewide membership organizations in the nation that convenes and helps to connect leaders and organizations from the public, private and nonprofit, philanthropic and education sectors interested in civic advance in Florida’s communities.
